Collaboration with UNESCO on programs and activities

Collaborating closely with UNESCO on impactful programs and activities, the UNESCO Chair for Social Sustainability at the University of Szczecin, Poland, actively engages in producing joint research within the Social and Human Sciences Sector (SHS). This collaboration aims to generate academic outputs such as conferences and publications that contribute significantly to the objectives of the SHS Sector.

In line with this commitment, the UNESCO Chair for Social Sustainability played a pivotal role in co-organizing the prestigious New Trends and Best Practices in Socioeconomic Research (SER 2023) conference. This collaborative effort involved partnerships with the Economic Laboratory for Transition Research (Podgorica, Montenegro), Adriatic University Bar, Faculty for Mediterranean Business Studies (Tivat, Montenegro), University Mediterranean, Podgorica, Montenegro, Doctoral School, University of Szczecin, Poland, and the Center for Social Research, Szczecin, Poland.

Highlighting the conference’s academic prowess, four doctoral students Ms. Weiyi Xiang, Mr. Guru Ashish Singh, Mr. Bahalwan Apriyansyah, and Mr. Kelaniyage Shihan Dilruk Fernando presented their research findings during the online event, which took place on the 12th of December 2023 at 16:30 CET via Microsoft Teams.

Mr. Kelaniyage Shihan Dilruk Fernando, representing the UNESCO Chair for Social Sustainability, served as the chair of the technical session, overseeing the insightful presentations and discussions. The event was enriched by the contributions of esteemed individuals, including Dr. hab., Jarosław Korpysa, a professor at the University of Szczecin and the Director of the Doctoral School, Professor Mimo Drašković from the University of Montenegro, and Professor Jurii Bilan from the Center for Sociological Research.

This collaborative initiative reflects the University of Szczecin’s commitment to advancing social sustainability through impactful research and international cooperation.
