PhD Student Piotr Walkowiak in prestigious Biosemiotics!
We are proud to announce that our PhD Student Piotr Walkowiak issued publication in prestigious Biosemiotics (scored for 100 points, Impact Factor 2.1). Publication is entitled: Lofts as Shared Spaces: Examining Socio-Spatial Interactions Among Humans, King Pigeons, and Other Species.
Piotr Walkowiak is researcher of the Institute of Sociology US under supervision of dr hab. Maciej Kowalewski, prof. US.
Conducted through in-depth, semi-structured interviews with 11 Polish breeders afliated with King Club PL, the research reveals that specifc structural characteristics and the demeanor of King pigeons infuence breeders’ decisions to work with this breed, thereby initiating interspecies relationship. The King pigeon, a fancy pigeon breed, is highly regarded among breeders in Poland, achieving notable success in exhibitions across Europe.
