The first meeting of the “Join US – Stay with US” series this academic year is behind us
On November 21, 2024, we had the pleasure of listening to a lecture by prof. Onur Kemal Tosuna from Cardiff Business School and Cardiff University, entitled “Conducting Rigorous Empirical Research – Crucial Points”. Professor discussed in great detail the proper structure of empirical research, giving practical tips for PhD students on working with data – including: how to convincingly prove empirical hypotheses, what research methods are best used, what aspects should be given special attention.
The guest of our meeting, prof. Onur Kemal Tosun, also shared his own experience and talked about the research he conducted, which can be read about in the scientific work entitled “Unintended Consequences of ‘The Plan For Growth’: Eraings Management in the UK”.
At the end of the meeting, there were questions from the audience, to which Prof. Tosun replied very comprehensively.
